Cooking with ehc: Honey Simple Syrup

Creating a simple syrup is one of the best ways to use your Evans Honey. It offers exceptional versatility, perfect for drizzling on pancakes to enhancing seasonal cocktails, coffee, or sauces. Also, creating honey simple syrup allows you to evenly distribute honey in all your recipes, giving you greater control and flavor consistency.

The recipe is quite simple, just use equal parts of Evans Honey and Water. In our recipe we use 1 cup of water, but feel free to adjust the ratio to increase the intensity of your wildflower honey's flavor in the simple syrup. Don’t forget the more honey you add to the 1 cup of water, the less watery your honey simple syrup will be. Consider this when choosing which container you will use. Colin uses a squeeze bottle to store his simple syrup in the fridge. Your simple syrup will have a shelf life of one month in the fridge.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of Evans Honey

  • 1 cup of water

Directions

Your honey does not need to be pre-softened as it will soften in the heated water.

  1. Measure 1 cup of water

  2. Measure 1 cup of honey in a dry measuring cup

  3. Place water on stove on low heat and honey

  4. Stir continuously until honey and water have combined and honey has melted completely. Ensure that you  frequently stir the honey and water to ensure the honey doesn't stick to the pot.
